I'm a researcher in Palo Alto focused on machine learning, metaheuristics, and other combinatorial optimization algorithms.
My goal is to apply these ideas to the advancement of technology, study of the natural world, and conservation of natural diversity.
Some things I've worked on include:
- Reinforcement learning (RL) and metaheuristics for the bin packing problem
- Metaheuristics for arithmetic circuit optimization
- Physics-driven RL for discovering unknown biomolecular structures
- Optimizable sparsity for efficient transformer models
- Metaheuristics for test-time scaling of diffusion models
- Stochastic neural network weights for sparsity and low-bit quantization
Right now I'm building a new type of generative model that performs chain-of-thought reasoning without relying on human language, with the goal of bringing R1-like reasoning to domain-specialized scientific models.
